Brewing Kindness: Dorset Tea Joins Hands with Ferndown Community Support

At Dorset Tea, we’re all about bringing people together, one cup at a time. That’s why we’re thrilled to wrap up our 2024 "communi-tea" initiative by supporting a truly inspiring local group: Ferndown Community Support.

Since its founding in 2020, Ferndown Community Support has become a lifeline for so many in our area. From their Community Larder and Food Bank to their Pet Food and Hygiene Bank, this non-profit organisation is all about making life better for residents. Run by a passionate team of over 100 volunteers, their work goes beyond providing essentials—they also foster connection and joy, especially during the festive season.

This year, we’ve contributed both funds and tea to help them continue their incredible work. A big part of our donation will support their Mission Santa Sacks initiative, which spreads a little Christmas magic to local children and young people aged 3 to 18. These thoughtful gift packages bring so much joy to families who need a boost at this time of year.

We’ve also helped fund an urn for their community hub, where volunteers and visitors can enjoy a warm drink and a sense of togetherness. After all, nothing says "welcome" quite like a steaming cuppa shared with friendly faces.

“We’re very grateful to Dorset Tea,” says Hannah Hobbs-Chell, Founder of Ferndown Community Support. “Their donation will make a huge difference. Our Mission Santa Sacks bring Christmas magic to local children facing hardship, and we rely on community support to make this possible.”

For us at Dorset Tea, supporting local causes like this is what being a Dorset-based brand is all about.

“As a Dorset-based brand, we’re passionate about supporting our community, especially during the festive season,” says Lauren Forecast, Brand Manager at Dorset Tea. “Partnering with Ferndown Community Support allows us to make a real difference right on our doorstep, helping local families and individuals who need it most this December.”

Ferndown Community Support relies on the generosity of others to keep their vital services running. If you’d like to help, you can donate funds through their website or drop off essential items for the Community Larder and Hygiene Bank. They’re also always on the lookout for volunteers to help bring their projects to life—find out more at www.ferndowncommunitysupport.org.uk.

As for us, we’re proud to have supported not just Ferndown Community Support but many other wonderful local organisations through our communi-tea initiative this year, including Home Start Wessex, In Jolly Good Company, Grounded Community, Age UK North, South & West Dorset, and more.

If you’re part of a charity or community initiative that needs a helping hand, we’d love to hear from you—drop us a line at chat@dorsettea.co.uk. Together, let’s keep brewing kindness. ☕💛
